Brilliant But Basic Ways to Get over a Breakup

Breakups are undoubtedly difficult to deal with. While it may be difficult to get over someone, it might not be altogether an impossible task. Even if it is your decision, you find yourself emotionally unstable when going through a break-up. You need time to adjust yourself when your partner, who is now your ex is not around. Though we can't physically wipe away your tears, we have brought you some ways through which you will not find yourself teary-eyed in the first place. Read ahead to find some of the brilliant ways to get over a breakup easily.

1. Turn your cold side on.

There can be many sorts of breakups. Some couples may decide to continue their friendship even after their breakup. In such situations, it will become all the more difficult for you to move on with your life. And there are even chances of your getting back together. So, if you don't want that to happen, or if you wish to make the process of moving on a bit easier for yourself, be as cold as you can with your ex. It is always beneficial to straightaway cut any conversation off with them rather than slowly cutting them off from your life. That means no texts, no phone calls and no meetings immediately after your breakup.

If necessary, involve a third party such as your best friend in case you require them to do something extremely important for you. This way, you'll not require to meet them directly.

2. Hang out with your friends.

Breakups are suffocating. You need to divert your mind, soul and energy into something of significance. During this time, you might feel like isolating yourself from the world and be on your own, but that is the one thing which you should not do no matter what! Share what you feel with your best friends. Try to divert your mind as much as possible. Go for watching your favourite movies, go for bowling or just party with your friends. If you don't like going out in general, hang out with your friends at your home, binge watch your favourite shows and movies, get some pizza delivered to your place and just enjoy life. And if none of this helps, take a mini vacation and explore new places with your friends. There is so much more to life than that one person who did not care enough to stay.

3. Avoid the things which remind you of them.

When you are going through a breakup, it is common to get swept away with a wave of emotions whenever you see things that remind you of your ex. Whenever you smell a certain scent or whenever you walk past their favourite restaurant, you might tear up a little bit on the inside. But, ask yourself whether doing that is going to help you in any way or not. The answer to this will always be a No. So instead of getting way too emotional, try to avoid those things. Try to take a different route and ignore those things as much as you can.

4. Don't fill up the void quickly.

Now, you might have understood what we're hinting at. People have this tendency to fill the void, after their breakup by getting into a new relationship immediately. While you might just want someone to talk to or someone to go out with, you end up being in a relationship with them soon after your breakup. This is only going to make the situation worse for you. In a hurry, you might end up being in a relationship with the wrong person, yet again.Soon After your breakup, you are not in a position to judge if a person is right for you because you just need a shoulder to cry on, be it anyones. So don't be in a hurry and wait for the recovery phase to get over before thinking about getting into a new relationship.

5. Calm yourself down.

You might feel that you have been cheated on by your ex or you might have been wronged. This might aggravate you. But the key here is to not lose your calm even if you are boiling with anger on the inside. Try to see the positive side that you are over dealing with a toxic relationship before further harm could be done. Try to listen to some good relaxing music, go for all those things which relax you and calm you down.

6. Remember that you're better off without your ex.

Needless to say that you might definitely have some fond memories of your relationship with your ex. The laughter, the love, the smile you shared with each other is definitely going to be in your memory. These, however, aren't going to help you. What's going to help you is all the toxic things related to your relationship. Think about the times when it was so suffocating for you to be in that relationship. These negative things will help you to come out stronger and will make you get over your ex very soon.

7. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

No, we are not talking about the song here. We are hinting at the fact that it is okay to sometimes feel sad over your breakup, as long as that sometimes doesn't turn into always. Breakups only end up making you stronger. You may discover a new side of yourself that you previously didn't know about. Try discovering some new hobbies while going through this phase of your life. This will heal your heart slowly and gradually.

Don't be too hard on yourself and remember that you deserve someone who values you enough and is afraid to lose you. Don't settle for any less!
